Country Club Plaza, Power & Light District and Zona Rosa create a one night shopping extravaganza
KANSAS CITY, MO. – For the first time in Kansas City, local shopping districts will come together in the name of fashion to offer a special shopping event in conjunction with New York City’s popular Fashion’s Night Out, scheduled for Thursday, September 8.
Fashion’s Night Out was originally created in 2009 as a collaboration between American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company, and the City of New York to gain excitement for shopping and restore consumer confidence. This year, Fashion’s Night Out will debut in Kansas City bringing together events at shopping districts from throughout the city.
“We’re excited to be working with the Plaza and Power & Light District to be able to bring something like this to Kansas City for the first time,” said Rosemary Salerno, general manager of Zona Rosa. “It’s not every day that we get to pool our efforts to work towards a common goal but it’s a pleasure to introduce Fashion’s Night Out to this city and build excitement for shopping, fashion, designers and our stores.”
Kansas City will be participating along with Milan, Atlanta and Los Angeles and many other cities throughout the world in a simultaneous Fashion’s Night Out celebration Thursday, September 8, 2011. Locally, the night will include special promotions in stores, live music, fashion shows, live models, celebrities, makeovers, food and drink sampling and more.
Kansas City’s Mayor Sly James also has officially proclaimed September 8 the date of Kansas City’s celebration of Fashion’s Night Out.
“As we celebrate and support the fashion and retail community, we invite other districts and stores to share information regarding their evening’s activities to help create a greater simultaneous impact on our city.
