– Jamie McMurray, 2010 Daytona 500 champion driver of the No.1 McDonald’s Chevrolet, will greet the public at 6 p.m. Friday, June 3 at McDonald’s, 2200 Vernon Ave., North Kansas City, Mo. McMurray, who races for Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates, will sign autographs, take photos and greet the public during a special McDonald’s event to celebrate Kansas City’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race at Kansas Speedway on June 5. McMurray may even help work in the drive-thru! The event will include an appearance by McMurray’s No. 1 McDonald’s Chevrolet showcar.
McMurray, who is from Joplin, Mo., is leading several benefits to help raise money for the victims of the tornado in his hometown. First, he will be in Joplin on Thursday to visit the community where he grew up and lend a hand to local residents. Then on Friday, Kansas Citians can help McMurray raise even more money for Joplin victims by visiting the McDonald’s at 2200 Vernon Ave. between 4 and 8 p.m. Twenty-percent of the sales will be donated to The Salvation Army’s special fund to aid Joplin tornado victims. The Salvation Army has six mobile feeding kitchens on site in Joplin and has served more than 30,000 people since the disaster. For more information, please visit www.salvationarmy.us.
