Blue Bell Ice Cream Introduces Holiday Flavors in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The holiday season brings cold days spent nestled by the fire, a special wreath hung on the door and family gathered around the table. This year begin a new tradition with Blue Bell Ice Cream and its Holiday Favorites – two new flavors, never before released and two fan favorite ice creams specially packaged and available only during the holiday season.

The two new flavors from Blue Bell are: Banana Nut Bread Ice Cream and Christmas Cookies Ice Cream.
Banana Nut Bread is a creamy banana ice cream with flavorful banana nut bread pieces, roasted walnuts and a smooth cream cheese frosting swirl.
Christmas Cookies Ice Cream combines everybody’s favorite holiday cookies: chocolate chip, snickerdoodle and sugar – in a tasty sugar cookie ice cream with red candy cane shaped sprinkles and a green icing swirl throughout.

Spiced Pumpkin Pecan Ice Cream, which was introduced in 2010, is also a holiday favorite and proved so when it quickly sold out last year. This year the company will produce even more half gallons of spiced pumpkin ice cream, which features sugar-coated pecans and a rich cinnamon-honey-praline sauce in a fluffy pumpkin ice cream.

And no holiday line of ice cream would be complete without the longtime annual favorite, Peppermint Ice Cream, a cool, refreshing peppermint ice cream sprinkled with peppermint candy pieces.

“We’ve selected four ice cream flavors that best capture the holiday spirit,” said Mathew Samuel, Blue Bell branch manager. “You can try them all at once or one half gallon at a time. But don’t wait because we do not expect these to stick around in the stores for too long.”

These specially packaged flavors – featuring a red bow – will be in Kansas City’s grocer’s freezer in November. Holiday Favorites are only available for a limited time. For a complete list of flavors now available from “the little creamery,” visit www.bluebell.com.

Blue Bell Ice Cream is the third bestselling ice cream in the country although it is only available in 18 states, including Kansasand Missouri. The ice cream has attracted what USA Today has called “a cult-like following” in the markets where it is sold and among transplanted Blue Bell lovers everywhere. In 2007, Blue Bell celebrated its 100th anniversary at its headquarters in Brenham, Texas, a town of about 12,000 people located 70 miles northwest of Houston.
